With continued business growth, we are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our busy and expanding team on site in Chester. Reporting to the Factory Manager, the main purpose is to provide direct support for the Factory Manager and Chester site Management Team on all aspects of health and safety, including the management of health and safety systems, reduction in accidents, providing effective analysis and driving the site’s safety culture.

Although this list is not exhaustive, the main key tasks within this position are:

  • Conduct H&S Co-ordinator site inspections/walk around:
    • Daily inspection/walk around of targeted operational areas and document findings
    • Weekly to have included inspection/walk around of all areas and document findings.
  • To advise, engage and support Site Senior Managers of H&S concerns, potential initiatives and the required actions.
  • Manage and monitor the effectiveness of accident and near miss reporting procedures, including RIDDOR submissions.
  • Co-ordinate the implementation of the corrective actions and preventative measures resultant from accidents and near misses.
  • Work as required with Group H&S, including - maintaining weekly reports, updating on H&S incidents and developments, sharing good practice.
  • Maintain and develop knowledge and expertise on current H&S legal requirements and good practice, through qualifications and professional development.
  • Seek direction and guidance from Group H&S where necessary.
  • Maintain a good knowledge of company procedures and ensure these are complied with.
  • Maintain good levels of attendance in line with the company standard.
  • Maintain co-operative working with other departments to ensure continuous improvement
  • Prioritise actions to ensure effective performance.

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Mon to Fri. 9:00am to 5:00pm (flexible to suit the needs of the business)
